What Our Students Learn
At Lebeor School of Art, students of all ages are exposed to a variety of artistic mediums. We love helping students explore their creativity and develop essential art skills.
Elementary
Our youngest students are introduced to the fundamentals of drawing, color usage, and creative expression. We’ll experiment with materials like colored pencils, watercolor, and gouache. Our main focus is on building confidence and foundational techniques, while also incorporating arts and crafts to keep lessons engaging and fun.
As students progress, they begin to master the basics and explore different themes in their artwork. We introduce more advanced techniques and materials while encouraging personal style development. For those aiming to apply to arts-oriented middle schools, specialized classes focus on preparing them for portfolio reviews and exams.
Middle School and High School
Here we help students explore a wider range of media, including pastels, pen and ink, and acrylics. We often experiment with multiple forms as they work toward developing their unique artistic style. We can also help middle schoolers prepare for acceptance into Mark Twain, Bay Academy, and Boody Middle School. and also prepare a portfolio for high schools like Murrow, Frank Sinatra High School, LaGuardia, and Art&Design High School.
As a student reaches the later years of high school, we will explore more complex artistic forms and unique methods. We dive deeper into other media while working on building their portfolio for art high school applications. We also offer advanced foundation classes for students in 7th grade and up to allow students to refine their techniques and approach new challenges with confidence.
