Over the years, we have worked to develop a unique and efficient program that not only prepares the student for the test but also elevates the student’s skill level. Our program involves all 3 aspects of the test: Composition, Still Life, and Essay. See our list of acceptances.

What is on the NYC middle school art test?

Art middle schools such as Mark Twain and Bay Academy test three areas: still life drawing, composition and a written essay. Our program covers all three. We also help students prepare for other art tests that aren't part of our group classes.

When should my child start preparing?

Most students start toward the 4th grade. The special test-prep class runs in two sessions: March to May, and September to November.

Is test prep separate from regular art classes?

Yes. The test-prep class is an additional class that students take alongside their regular grade 4–5 class. Regular classes build the necessary skills, and the prep class focuses on the test format.

How do Lebeor students do on the Mark Twain art test?

Very well. In 2026, four Lebeor students were accepted to Mark Twain with test scores of 93 to 95. Since 2023, our Mark Twain students have scored between 93 and 100.

Which middle schools have Lebeor students been accepted to?

Do you offer the test prep online?

Yes. The Bay Academy, Mark Twain, and David Boody prep classes are offered online.

How much does middle school test prep cost?

The Spring composition classes cost $370 for the package, and the Fall still life and essay classes also cost $370 for the package.
